What is head porting?
Cylinder head porting is the technology of modifying the intake and exhaust ports of an internal combustion engine to improve the quality and quantity of the gas flow. Cylinder heads as manufactured cannot be optimal due to design and manufacturing constraints. Porting the heads provides the finely detailed attention required to bring the engine to the highest level of efficiency. More than any other single factor porting technology is responsible for the high power output of modern engines.

This process can be applied to a standard racing engine to optimize its power output as well as to a production engine to turn it into a racing engine, to enhance its power output for daily use or to alter its power output characteristics to suit a particular application.
Daily human experience with air gives the impression that air is light and nearly non-existent as we move slowly through it. An engine running at high speed experiences a totally different substance. In that context, air can be thought of as thick, sticky, elastic, gooey and heavy. Pumping it is a major problem for engines running at speed. Porting helps engines deal with this problem.
What can we offer?
At TS Autotronic, our mechanics have years of experience in head porting. We have proven over time that head porting can give any car an increase of at least 5% in BHP, and a 2% gain in torque. The figures may not seem impressive, but we do not believe in providing false information on the actual gains.
Each cylinder head of every car is different, as well as the individual needs of every driver. There is no such thing as 1 type of cylinder head porting that will suit every driver. As such, we will cater to your needs and requirements when you come to us. Because we believe that to meet your requirement is our goal.
Before After
After porting, a lower compression is achieved without need to change piston. The advantage of this is to allow a higher boost on a turbo charged car, thus achieving more BHP. On a NA (Naturally Aspired) this will not be done.
Before After
After porting, the intake port is greatly enlarged, but the original shape and angle of are not changed. This do not disturb the factory designed air flow dynamics, but only served to enhance the air flow. Beware that if the air flow dynamics is altered, there is maybe no performance gain, instead, it will only served to increase the wear and tear of your engine faster.
